Refunds and cancelling
This page explains how to cancel a SplitCheck plan and how refunds work. It is a plain summary of sections 6, 8 and 13 of our Terms of Service, which are what apply. SplitCheck is sold by SplitCheck Pty Ltd (ACN 702 103 142, ABN 73 702 103 142). Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. Effective: 27 September 2026.
The short version
You can cancel any time. Cancelling takes a few taps, and we do not ask you to stay, call you, or offer you a discount to stay.
When you cancel, you keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for, and you are not charged again.
The Australian Consumer Law protects you. If something we sold you does not work as it should, we fix it, redo it, or refund you.
1. Cancelling a plan bought in the iPhone app
- On your iPhone, open Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions, choose SplitCheck, and cancel.
- Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends, or Apple may charge the next period.
- Deleting the app, or deleting your SplitCheck account, does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it first.
2. The website
The SplitCheck website does not sell plans. Every plan is bought in the iPhone app, through Apple, so section 1 is how you cancel.
3. Refunds
- App Store purchases. Apple is the merchant, so Apple handles refund requests at reportaproblem.apple.com under its own policy.
- Change of mind. Cancelling stops future charges. It does not refund the current period, and a single check that has been used is not refunded for change of mind.
- When something is wrong. If the service fails to meet a consumer guarantee, for example a paid check that could not produce an answer because of a fault on our side, or a charge you did not agree to, we provide the remedy the Australian Consumer Law requires: a refund, a repeat of the service, or extended access, depending on the problem. For App Store purchases, if Apple has not provided that remedy, contact us and we will arrange it through Apple or pay it ourselves.
- If we stop offering SplitCheck, we give paid subscribers at least 30 days notice and refund any unused part of a period already paid for.
4. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing on this page limits them. Section 13 of the Terms of Service explains them in full.
